House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bill Thomas has formally requested, in what is known as a Section 332 request, that the ITC analyze the impact of the Section 201 steel tariffs on steel-consuming industries. The ITC has announced the dates on the initiation of the study:
PUBLIC HEARING June 19, 2003
(requests to appear at the hearing to be filed not later than June 2, 2003)
WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS June 27, 2003
REPORT COMPLETION September 20, 2003
(The final report will include the effects of termination of the tariffs effective September 20, 2003).
