FOCUS: At the invitation of House Small Business Committee Member Rep. Grace Napolitano (D-CA), CITAC members o small business executives from steel-using firms o will testify before the House Small Business Committee at Norwalk City Hall. CITAC members will testify on regional market conditions since the imposition of 30% tariffs on imported steel in March by the Bush Administration. A full committee hearing was held by Chairman Donald Manzullo (R-IL) on July 23rd in Washington D.C. Downstream, small business owners in the U.S. are facing extensive lead times, steel supply shortages o including those created by domestic steel mills putting customers on allocation o broken contracts with suppliers and skyrocketing prices. These problems have created an unsustainable business environment for small steel-consuming firms who, heretofore, have been globally competitive and steady sources of economic and job growth in their communities.

PLEASE NOTE: Copies of witnessesi testimony will be available at the hearing. Individual interviews with witnesses may be arranged by contacting Paul Nathanson or Dara Klatt at . For more information, please visit citac.info, www.house.gov/smbiz or
