Speaker Biographies



BRIAN T. PETTY is the Senior Vice President for Government Affairs of the International Association of Drilling Contractors. He is based in Washington, DC, where he directs the drilling and oilfield service industrys global government affairs program.

Mr. Petty formerly served as the State of Texas Energy Counsel in Washington. He was also an officer of the international investment banking firm of Warburg Paribas Becker, and headed that companys Houston office. Prior to that, Mr. Petty was with the law firm of Mudge Rose Guthrie & Alexander in New York.

Mr. Petty serves as Vice Chairman of the federal Industry Sector Advisory Committee on Capital Goods for Trade Policy Matters (ISAC 2), which counsels the U.S. Trade Representative and the Secretary of Commerce. He earned his B.A. degree at Spring Hill College, his M.A. at the University of Virginia, and his J.D. at Georgetown University.
