Speaker Biographies



BRINK LINDSEY is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and the director of its Center for Trade Policy Studies. Since its establishment in 1998, the center has gained widespread notice for its principled, energetic support of free trade and open markets.

Mr. Lindsey has written and spoken widely on trade policy issues. In addition to his numerous publications for the Cato Institute, he is a contributing editor of Reason, and his articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Journal of Commerce, Washington Times, Chicago Tribune, Weekly Standard, and elsewhere. He has testified before Congress and has appeared on CNN, CNBC, National Public Radio, and many other media outlets.

Lindsey is an attorney with extensive experience in international trade regulation. He has defended free-trade interests in antidumping, countervailing duty, Section 201, and Section 301 investigations and in WTO disputes. He currently serves as senior legal advisor to the international trade group of the law firm of White & Case.

Lindsey was formerly Cato's director of regulatory studies and senior editor of Regulation magazine. He received an A.B. from Princeton University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
